Work and Study Visa
If you come from one of these countries:
Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Panama, Argentina, Mexico, USA, Canada, Japan, Korea or Taiwan:
You do not need a Visa before coming to Ireland.
However, you must register when you arrive and apply for a Work and Study Visa. This page will explain how this to do this.
How it works
You can only apply for a Work Study Visa after you arrive in Ireland.
The Central School of English provides courses that enable students to apply for a work study visa.
Here’s what you need to do if you want to study English in Ireland with a Work and Study Visa.
Before you arrive in Ireland you need to:
- Pay in full for a 25 week Work and Study Course
- Have a letter of acceptance from the language school with details of your course and proof of payment
- Have a passport that is valid for a minimum of 6 months after your course has finished
- Have €3000 to show you can support yourself while you are living in Ireland
- Have €300 to pay for the Visa Application
After you arrive in Ireland you must apply for your Visa.
To be awarded the visa you need to:
- Have a letter of acceptance from the language school with details of your course
- Have a passport that is valid for a minimum of 6 months after your course has finished
- Have €3000 to show you can support yourself while you are living in Ireland
- Have €300 to pay for the Visa Application
- Have medical insurance and learner protection. These are provided by the Central School of English and are included in your course fees.
- Make an appointment with the Immigration Office 13-14 Burgh Quay, Dublin.
