Typical student expenses in Dublin include:
Tuition Fees:
Course fees depend on the programme, number of lessons per week, and booking duration. Please check our current price list for details. Sample: 25-week courses cost between €2,700 and €3,200.
Accommodation:
Homestay, shared accommodation, private rooms, and student residences vary in price. Students should generally budget around €700–€1,800+ per month, depending on the option chosen.
Food & Groceries:
If meals are not included in your accommodation, budget around €60–€100 per week for groceries, plus extra for coffee, snacks, and eating out.
Public Transport:
Our school is located in Dublin city centre, close to Luas, DART, bus, and train connections. Eligible full-time students can apply for a Student or Young Adult TFI Leap Card, helping reduce transport costs. Dublin city travel may cost around €12–€48 per month, depending on use and eligibility.
Social Activities & Extras:
Students should budget for social activities, course materials, laundry, toiletries, phone credit, and personal spending. A typical allowance is €50–€150 per week.
Health Care
If you have enrolled on a 25-week course at the Central School of English, medical insurance will have been provided to you as part of your course fee but be aware that the medical insurance, like typical medical insurances, doesn’t cover the cost of visits to a doctor or for routine medication. Depending on your needs, you might budget for about €50 per month for health care.
Immigration Permissions/Visas
Learners from non-EU countries should be aware, when budgeting for their course, that there is a fee of €300 to pay for the processing of their application for an immigration permission to attend the course. This is the fee that the Irish Department of Justice charges for processing an application for the immigration permission needed to attend the course. It is charged to the Learner from the Department of Justice.
Estimated Monthly Budget:
Most English language students in Dublin should expect to spend around €1,300–€1,750 per month, excluding tuition fees, flights, visa costs, and insurance.
Prices are estimates for 2026 and may vary depending on lifestyle, accommodation availability, and personal choices.

From the reception to the pedagogical coordination, each team member demonstrates organisation and is always willing to help.

All of the teachers are Irish or British, and that makes a huge difference. You quickly get used to their native accents and learn real everyday expressions and slang that you wouldn’t normally find in textbooks.

I went to classes with Mark to prepare for the B2 exam and I learned a lot. His classes are a lot of fun where you learn all four skills.
